第五条 餮（贅沢な食）を絶って欲（贅沢を欲する心）を棄てる（収賄せずに公正に訴訟を裁く）。

本条は、官吏は完全に客観的に物事を治めることを宣言しています。
This article declares that the officials shall rule the issues perfectly objectively.

本条は、官吏は大御宝が生来的に公正と感じるような法の適用と執行を行なうことを宣言しています。
This article declares that the officials shall apply laws and execute them as the People intrinsically feel fair.

本条は、いかなる職務であれ、官吏は各々の任務を懸命に全うするよう努めることを宣言しています。
This article declares that no matter what the one’s professional task is, each and every official shall dedicatedly try to complete one’s own.
