平清盛は1181年2月に熱病（猩紅熱？）で亡くなり、後白河法皇は何とか自力で幽閉先から脱しました。
Kiyomori Taira had a fever (scarlet fever?) and died in February of 1181, and Goshirakara Dharma Emperor managed to break out the prison on his own.
倶利伽羅峠（富山県）で平氏軍を破った源義仲は1183年7月には都にまで進軍しました。
After Yoshinaka Minamoto defeated Heishi’s troop at Kurikara Peak (Toyama Prefecture), he moved his troop to the capital in July of 1183.
平氏が三種の神器と6歳の安徳天皇とともに都を脱したため、後白河法皇は後鳥羽天皇を即位させました。
Because Heishi members escaped from the capital with the 3 Divine Treasures and 6-year-old Antoku Emperor, Goshirakara Dharma Emperor enthroned Gotoba Emperor.
そして、源義仲の軍の都での目に余る乱暴狼藉ぶりを見かねた白河法皇は源義仲の軍に平氏の残党追討を命じ、都から離れさせました。
Being fed up with horribly violent and terribly rowdy behaviors of Yoritomo Yoshinaka’s troop in the capital, he ordered them to go out of the capital and to chase down the rest of Heishi.
その後、高く評価していた源頼朝に平氏の残党追討と源義仲の軍の討伐を命じる院宣を発しました。
Later, he gave the man who he had highly evaluated, Yoritomo Minamoto the Imperial order to chase down the rest of Heishi and Yoshinaka Minamoto’s troop.
To finish this mission, Yoritomo Minamoto sent his younger brothers, Yoshitsune and Noriyori Minamoto.
源義仲の軍を討伐した源義経と源範頼はすぐに平氏の残党追討を開始しました。
As soon as they defeated Yoshinaka Minamoto’s troop, they began chasing down the rest of Heishi.
