後がなくなった源義経は、源頼朝を朝敵とするため、源頼朝討伐の勅を発するよう大胆にも後白河法皇を脅しました。
To make Yoritomo Minamoto the dynasty’s enemy, desparate Yoshitsune Minamoto dare threatened Goshirakara Dharma Emperor to issue the order to subjugate him.
ところが、これに憤った源頼朝が都に60,000騎の軍を都に送ったことを聞いた後白河法皇は換わりに源義経討伐の勅を速やかに発しました。
However, hearing that resenting Yoritomo Minamoto sent 60,000 mounted-Samurai troop to the capital, Goshirakara Dharma Emperor immediately issued the order to subjugate Yoshitsune Minamoto instead.
他方、源義経には家臣に与えられる土地がなかったため、僅か200騎しか集められませんでした。
On the other hand, since he didn’t have any land to give to his vassals as rewards, Yoshitsune Minamoto could only gather 200 mounted-Samurai troops.
そこで、源義経と源行家は抵抗することを諦め、逃走することを決めました。
So, Yoshitsune Minamoto and Yukiie Minamoto gave up to fight and decided to flight.
源行家は1187年に捕まって処刑されましたが、山伏の格好をしながら逃げ続けた源義経は養育期を過ごした平泉（岩手県）にまで辿り着きました。
While Yukiie Minamoto got caught and executed in 1187, Yoshitsune Minamoto dressed himself like a Yamabushi and managed to reach Hiraizumi (Iwate Prefecture) where he was brought up.
奥州藤原の長であり、養育してもらった藤原秀衡が源義経が頼ることのできる最後の希望でした。
The head of Oshu Fujiwara, Hidehira Fujiwara who brought him up was his last hope to depend upon.
