御家人の軍は1221年に朝廷の軍に圧勝し、1239年に薨去されるまで後鳥羽上皇は隠岐（島根県）に流されてしまいました。
After Gokenin’s troop overwhelmed and defeated the dynasty’s troop in 1221, Gotoba Grand Emperor had been sentenced banishment to Oki Island (Shimane Prefecture) until he demised in 1239.
承久の乱のようなことが二度と起きないようにするため、幕府は京都守護の力を強化するとともに、「探題」という新たな幕府の防衛機関を都の六波羅に置きました。
To prevent such an event like the Revolt of Jokyu, Bakufu gave a lot more power to Kyoto Shugo and also placed Bakufu’s new defense agency called, “Tandai” in Rokuhara in the capital.
探題は奉行の力をさらに強化した機関であり、1276年には長門（山口県）にも置かれ、九州の奉行は1293年に探題へと昇格しました。
Tandai had much more power than Bugyo; another Tandai was put in Nagato (Yamaguchi Prefecture) in 1276, and Bugyo in Kyushu Island was upgraded to Tandai in 1293.
秩序を維持するために幕府がより権威的になっていくのは避けられないことでした。
To keep order, it was inevitable for Bakufu to be more and more authoritve.
