As the head of Japan’s Samurai, Yoritomo Minamoto had been envisaging to replace the dynasty with “Bakufu”, the government office run by Samurai.
源頼朝は既に鎌倉（神奈川県）に幕府の機関を設置し、実際に機能させ始めていました。
Actually, he had already been establishing Bakufu offices in Kamakura (Kanagawa Prefecture), and those offices had been functioning effectively.
類い希なる政治的才覚を披露してきた源頼朝に日本全国の家臣は非常に篤い信頼を寄せていました。
Showing his excellent political sense, he was highly respected by his vassals throughout Japan.
そして、幕府に朝廷の政治的影響力が及ばないようにするため、家臣に源頼朝の事前承認無しに朝廷から官位を受けることは控えるよう伝えていました。
To keep Bakufu away from the dynasty’s political influence, he required that his vassals get his prior approvals when they were to receive some official ranks from the dynasty.
